Vision

Lakewood Christian Elementary was established out of a genuine love for young children and a strong belief in the importance of the family in the growth and development of children. We partner with parents while setting a foundation of love for learning for our young students. Teachers model a daily walk with God focusing on character, discipline, and a love for God and man.

We offer two classes per grade level where every morning begins with prayer and devotions, and teachers are committed to the academic, spiritual, and social growth of each child in a safe and loving atmosphere.

What We Offer

  • Academically challenging curriculum taught from a Christian worldview by state credentialed, and ACSI certified teachers that understand the needs of the growing child. This includes a comprehensive worldview Bible curriculum through Summit Ministries (K-5), Saxon (K-2) and Big Ideas (3rd – 5th) Math, and Abeka Language arts (K-5). History and Science curricula include many hands on projects for more meaningful learning.
  • Weekly PE for all K-5th grade classes as well as afterschool athletics for 4th and 5th grade that include flag football, basketball, volleyball and cheer.
  • Curriculum-focused and Biblically integrated field trips across every grade level that welcome parent participation.
  • LCS families may choose half day or full day kindergarten to meet their child’s needs. Our developmental Kindergarten focuses on a growth mindset where kindergarten students come to school with an attitude of “I want to try that!” Subjects are taught through reading, singing, moving, writing and creating. Our classrooms are beautiful and vibrant, and our teachers are fun and loving.
  • Engaging chapels to spur on spiritual growth. Each class has the opportunity to present a chapel program once a year.
  • Serving the community through food drives, chapel offering, and simple community outreaches such as a walk to Brittany House, the local senior care residence.
  • Weekly art with a trained art teacher where students learn creativity, theory and design.
  • Weekly classroom music for all classrooms K-5 by a classically trained teacher, as well as an award-winning band and choir program starting in third grade. Private lessons teach a blend of classical and contemporary music. Band students perform at school events as well as compete in ACSI Band and Choir Festivals.
  • Age appropriate technology taught through 1:1 devices in the classroom and weekly trips to the Innovator’s Lab. Digital devices keep students engaged in the classroom and teach collaborative skills, while technology both digital and analog in the Innovator’s Lab teach a growth misset with a catalyst of compassion and empathy.

Big Events

We participate in a wide variety of ACSI events including Speech Meet, Math Olympics along with Art and Music Festivals.
Each year our administrative team prayerfully considers what our school offering will go towards.
We believe that students learn best through experiences. Because of that, we craft grade-level-specific field trips and activities aimed at teaching students to create missional mindset.
We enjoy having fun together at LCS, so throughout the year we encourage our students and staff to participate in a variety of dress up days on the last Friday of the month. Crazy Hair Day, Career Dress Up Day, Hawaiian Dress Up and Ugly sweater day are just a few of the fun and memorable ways we like to dress.
