The purpose of the Choir Program at Lakewood Christian Schools is to teach students how to glorify God through vocal music.
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation!
Psalm 95:1
Elementary Choir
The Elementary Choir program is open to 3rd-5th grade students. There is no prior experience needed to join the choir program, so everyone can participate! It is taught as an after school extra-curricular activity and meets one day per week. Choir students learn how to blend their voices as a group and are introduced to two-part singing. The choir performs in school chapels and concerts, and also participates in the ACSI Choral Festival.
Middle School Choir
The Middle School Choir program is open to 6th-8th grade students and no prior vocal experience is required. It is taught as an elective class and meets one period a day during the school day. In this class students develop their vocal abilities, both through solos and group singing, and are given experience singing music with multiple parts. Like the Elementary Choir, they perform in school chapels and concerts, and also participate in the ACSI Choral Festival.
